Acceptable use

Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: April 2026.

This policy applies to anyone using Novangel's website or services. It exists to keep the site reliable, secure, and useful for the small businesses we work with.

1. Don't abuse the infrastructure

  • No scraping or automated harvesting at scale. Manually browsing is fine; running a crawler outside robots.txt is not.
  • No denial-of-service traffic or anything that materially degrades site performance for other visitors. This includes load-testing without our written permission.
  • No probing, scanning, or vulnerability testing of our infrastructure without written permission. If you've found a security issue, see "Reporting security issues" below.
  • No bypassing authentication on the /admin area, the /api/admin endpoints, or any other restricted route.
  • No injecting malicious code through forms, query strings, or request headers.

2. Don't abuse the forms or contact channels

  • No fake or someone-else's information. Give truthful information about yourself and your business.
  • No spam submissions. Unsolicited pitches, link-building requests, SEO outreach, and similar bulk inbound get filtered and ignored.
  • No fraudulent inquiries intended to mislead us about a project or extract free consulting under false pretenses.
  • No content that's illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or infringing in any form-field or attached link. We reserve the right to delete it without notice.

3. Don't misuse content from the site

  • No republishing. Site copy, images, illustrations, and source code belong to us or to our licensors.
  • No misrepresenting affiliation. You may not imply that Novangel endorses, sponsors, or is affiliated with you, your business, or your work without written permission.
  • No use of our name or marks in domains, email addresses, ads, or social handles in a way that could confuse people.

4. Don't use the site to break the law

  • Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Send spam, phishing attempts, or unlawful messages.
  • Distribute malware, ransomware, or any other malicious code.
  • Engage in activity that would be a CFAA violation, a wiretap violation, or unauthorized access under any other law.

5. Reporting security issues

If you've found a vulnerability or a way to bypass any access control, please email hello@novangel.net with the details. We'll acknowledge within a few business days. Please don't:

  • Publicly disclose the issue before we've had a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
  • Access, modify, or exfiltrate data beyond what's strictly necessary to demonstrate the issue.
  • Use the issue to harm the site or other users.

We don't operate a paid bug-bounty program, but we appreciate responsible disclosure.

6. Consequences of misuse

If you violate this policy, we may (alone or in combination):

  • Block your IP address or device.
  • Remove or refuse to act on any submission.
  • Refer the matter to law enforcement if it appears to be a crime.
  • Pursue any other remedy available under applicable law or our Terms of Service.

7. Contact
